Particularly to my own students, you've grown up so successful. Some may have only entered university. Others are now already doing their degree, reached final year, and some have just graduated yesterday or today at Dewan Seri Sarjana, UNITEN. My ex-students at UKM Engineering and Medical School have now contributed so much to the country, and my own ex-UNITEN students are successful engineers and business graduates. Behind your successful stories, there could perhaps be a hero, or an idol, who helps to pave your pathway to success? If it's not too much to ask, perhaps we can share some of your own thoughts and reflection here, in my blog.

Hi there i'm Princess Farah, ok today I want to talk about WALL-E. WALL-E is great but it's not only great - it's fantastic or really really fantastic. WALL-E lives on earth and did i tell you that the earth is so dirty and has many rubbish.People do not live on the earth anymore because it has so many rubish and it's so filthy.
WALL-E always picks trash and put it in his tummy and it becomes a square.People throw things and toys that are useful,beautiful and still new. WALL-E has a pet cockroach, and i guess that there is a million of cockroach beacause it's so dirty. And did i tell you that the people live in a spaceship and the ship is so beautiful and the ship parks at outerspace.The ship stays in space for 700 years - wow! that's so long.In the ship there is a swimming pool,cafes,juice shop and so many more.The people in the ship are so so fat, obese exactly, because they always sit and eat and drink,eat and drink.And can you imagine that the babies are fat too that is so hard to imagine.
i think this movie shows us that human are so lazy, selfish and careless. They don't care about the earth. They make the earth dirty, and when there is too much rubbish, they run away. WALL-E is the hero. He saves the earth because he cleans the earth untill people can live on earth, again. The end. Brilliant movie, thank you mom and dad. I want to see another movie like Meet Dave?! High School Musical 3 ?!!!!!!!!:)

Hey pn zue... i'd like to begin by saying that your daughter is right about Wall E...he is a hero.. not only did he clean up the earth...he also helped the humans realise what they were missing all these while on earth while living in the space ship.
but enough about that, i'd like to share a little story about my hero...my mother.
My mother...or 'mummy' as we call her is not your average stay-at-home mom... on the contrary.. she is a full-time working mother that works in a bank. Bank Pembangunan is where her loyalty stayed for the past 25 over years...and still counting. On a daily basis, mummy would go to work by 7am and would only return home at 6-7pm in the evening. even with her busy schedule as she climbs her career ladder over the years, she still finds time in the evenings and also during weekends to spend with our family. she was there to kiss my cuts when i felt, console me when i was feeling horrid, even when i had problems with my friends, she was there to listen and advice me not only as a concerned parent, but also as a friend. and that who my mother is to me...my best friend
That was such an excellent piece by Farah. well said, there are many unsung heroes that are never given the proper recognition. Their efforts are most of the time gone unrecognized but this never breaks their spirit to keep trying to make a change in our world and society. This inspires many others to do things without looking for personal gain. You do it because you feel the world can be a better place if only everyone contributes. salam...first of all i would like to commemorate pn zue for being a good mama and at the same time a very excellent and dedicated english teacher..i was amazed by princess farah's writing...frankly speaking i will never thought that she's 9 years old if she did not mention it...i hope that she will continue to write bcoz i believe she will be a good writer like her mom in the future...;p
is it true behind every success there is a hero?as for me,throughout most of my success there was always my hero which is also my idol..ya..she's my mom..my super-duper mom..i'm really really grateful and thankful to god for having my mom..she plays a major role in my life..i really mean it..MAJOR!!without her there is no way i'll be where i am now..there are so many things to be listed about my mom and what have she done to bring me to the level i am standing now..during my early primary i was not always a good student yet despite her hectic schedule everyday she never gave up in teaching me until i was considered an 'excellent' student..hahahaha..not really that excellent but its enough to make my mom proud..unlike, some other parents they send their children for tuitions but my mom took her own afford to teach and that what makes me respect her so much..that is only a fraction part of what she have done..i have to do alot to pay her back..and i promise i will..my mom will always be my hero-my idol-and my inspiration!!!

Actually,the movie bring lots of moral values.it realize us that human nowadays are being too rely on machine till they become lazy.Everythings depend on machines.At office,school even at home people used machines.This is totally not good for human expecially on their health as they become more fatter n fatter..

my idol @ my hero is certainly my dearest lovely dovely mum...i can't imagine my life without her...she plays a very huge role behind my every success, my every decision and every step i take...i am very glad and happy that i have my mum...she has brought me up in a very simple way...i am who i am because of her...she is very loving,supportive and patient...i ask for her advice on every step i take because i believe mum knows best...and truthfully it always works out..there was at some point i didn't listen to her and at last i'll regret it cause watever she says is always right...i thank God for giving me so much happiness in this life which is mum... she will be my idol now and forever...i hope to be like my mum...i love u mum...miss u lotsss

I was nobody when I entered UNITEN and I didn't plan to be one. I also didn't plan what I am going to do or what I am going to be. My idol was actually my seniors in UNITEN, especially Boss & Nico. Seeing them potray themselves as leaders and full of confidence makes me want to be like them as well. Knowing they are students like me I know its not impossible.
I was feel very sad to those only catagorised mother become only idol or hero.

I really want to say thank to them at here, and also sorry for those I dissapointed them as well. I was very selfish I never care about parents feeling and hurt them with my selfish. I never listen to parents advises and continue my
selfish even they always care about me ... Sometimes I listen my sister said my mom was crying with my behavior. I was very sad with my behavior and I promise with my own no want to do that again. Everytime I take money from my parents I feel shameful, because I always hurt their feeling and even I am 17 years old I still take money from them.

No one ever appreciates what they have until it is gone. It is the most common mistake we human do. Wall E convey that message in a harsh and explicit manner, but it is the most effective way to get us on our two feet and to save our one and only home, not on a spaceship cruise but on our green planet we call earth. Imagine a simple act like planting a tree is unknown to us, we live each day without improving ourself and do not have the values and virtues that a person should have instead, all of the things that makes us human is found only on robots. Think twice before you decide that you want to dislike your life because it is the only life that you have.
ha-ha!!! U have watched WALL E too, Pn Zue!! Yai!! All humans PLS WATCH THIS MOVIE!! This is one of the most rousing movies I have ever seen for this year. It is so tear-jerking and poignant and I like the part where WALL E will watch the classic movie song.... I am reminiscent of that song anyway!
Again, DISNEY has made a tremendous movie which has fingered the soul of my heart.

On the idol, or Hero post, i guess i have many idols/heros, each for a different aspect that i admire and aspire. if i start listing it would go on and on...ha ha...an overall idol i guess would be my parents, the people who i know and love the most.
According to my opinion,i really solute the director of WALL-E because he is very creative and his cartoon is very futuristic.Firstly, he emphasizes on the importance of the cleanliness of the environment. Secondly, he shows us de importance of exercising. All the human in the spaceship were just so fat until they can't even pull themselves up. Futhermore, all the facilities in the spaceship is very advance but it brings an adverse effect on human. It causes human to be super lazy, 'physically retarded' and independent on technology. Besides, he also conveyed to us a message to keep the environment clean. All in all, this movie was launch at a perfect time.If not, we as a human will not even notice about the terrible condition of the Earth.

After some time, Disney made a very valuable movie, one of my favorite back then The Ants. It was about, passion, hardworking, team work, leadership, & love.
Talking about idols, I have few which I think I should not list here for some circumstances. Anyway having idol is something that is good, but trying to be the idol itself 100% is not good indeed. I believe that every single human is idol themselves. Why want to duplicate someone else when, you can take what you need and be yourself.
This aspect of truth can be seen in love itself. I've noticed some of my friends are really different during the beginning of the relationship, but not even few months it turns to real violence, because the real color emerges. What I'm trying to say is, why love a fake perfect person when you can love a nearly perfect person with of course some flaws, but the truth...???
If you make mistakes, that's normal. Who doesn't? Rectify it and move on...
I belief that we should have hero and idols, but not being 100% of them. Be yourself and try to respect your soul first. You are your idol. Belief in that, you would realise how grateful you are for being yourself...

Talking about idols and heroes,i would like talk about my idol,it is non other than Mr Bean.In my opinion,there is ample we can learn from him.He is a very simple guy who lives a very simple life,yet being very happy about it.Fom this we should learn that leading a simple life could save us alot of tension and frustration.He also always show us that there is a very simple solution for all problems,as an example,there was an episode where Mr Bean tries to make a sandwich in a park but fails,at the end the guy who was sitting beside him offered a readymade sandwich and Mr Bean excepted it humbly.He also symbolically shows us that every problem can be looked in a angle where the problem will look like a joke.This taught me to never take any problem seriously and look at it as a joke to avoid tension and frustration.This is just a fraction of what Mr Bean can teach us,there is more and that is why i made him my idol.-Hari Prasad

hi pn.zue..... well,talking about idol, my idol is one of the greatest scientist in the world, Albert Einstein!!! i admire him a lot because he has created equations and came up with theories which has contributed a lot in this world... infact today, scientist are using his equations to solve problems that are related to physics..... his first encounter with physics is with a magnetic compass when he was 5 years old....it hapenned when the needle's invariable northward swings, guided by an invisible force.... this convinced him that there had to be 'something behind things, something deeply hidden'.... on top of that, he came up with an interesting theory that is, there is a posibility that a person can travel through time....which i believe is true because nothing is impossible in this mysterious world!!!!.... and i hope that i will be the one who will succesfully prove his theory....hehehehe... that is all i can talk about my briliant idol.....thank you

my idol is my very own brother. he is now 21 years old. he's already working at a government company. although he was ignored by my father since young, my grandmother supports and advices him come what may, treating him like her very own son. although he was treated this way by my father, he still respected our father. when he was younger, he was a very naughty boy. when i was in form 1, we were in the same school. every morning during assembly, he would be called up by the principal due to disciplinary cases. i was ashame to call him family. even though he was like that, he was responsible to his siblings. even though my father treat me special, my brother looked pass that and loved my like any brother would. that is what makes him my idol.

my idol @ my hero are Tun Dr.Mahathir bin Mohamed and Gloria Aroyo Macapagal.Both of them are prime minister..But,Tun is Ex-prime minister of Malaysia..Tun Dr.Mahathir have brilliant idea tht gave us advantages.My family and I also support him until now and forever.I meet him when my sister was graduated from UTP a few year before.im proud to meet my idol there.hehe..Gloria Aroyo Macapagal also my idol because,she is only women who are a Prime Minister of Philipines..i was visited Philipines last trimester before fasting month wif my family.We went there for short holiday.We also visited Gloria Aroyo Macapagal palace at Malanganyang.It is a wonderful palace.i really2 excited on tht day.hehe..but,we must end tht day wif a short journey because of KIKO typhoon.im too scared when i knw it is a typhoon..=(

Yes. Wall-e is a hero. It save the earth. It clean up all rubbish at the earth and it never feel tired to do it's job. As we can see today, there are so many rubbish in the earth. This topic attracts my attention to read it and respond to it. My Hero. Of course everyone have their own hero. Even child also have their own hero. But their hero will be Superman, Power Rangers and others. My hero is my father. My father work hard to enlarge me and my siblings. From we are baby till now, my father work to make sure I’ll be a good girl. He also work hard without think more about himself, but just think how to make his child comfortable and get what they want. Besides, he work hard to make sure I get the education, and I’ll grow up as a good daughter. He also try his best to make sure all that we need, we can get it. As example, my car licence. I’m sure... everyone have their own hero and idol... why we must have hero or idol in our heart? The answer is... yes... of cause we have too... because??? So that our life will always have the guideline to follow... but first of all... our hero must have a criterion like a hero... if not... then we pick a wrong hero... and lead us to a wrong road of life...

she sacrifices everything... do her best for me to make sure her son eat well sleep well and well educated... she don’t want her son to be like her one day... work so hard to get a coin... she wan the best for her son... throw over the money... day by day... so guilty I felt when I used her money to enjoy... one day... I will repay... ill make sure... she is been taken care in the old days...

Everyone should have a hero or idol in their lives. But, sometimes we shouldn 't depend to much on them.
For me, to believe in someone is to put their faith and trust into that person. Even though he or she betrays your trust, we musn 't fret. But accept it and just let it be.
We may want to be like our heroes, they protect us, save us but whatever they do, its still the same. Evil cannot be vanquish within our souls.
But it can be sustained so that we will not be devoured by them. Heroes or basically people whom we have faith in only existed for the soul purpose of defending us from ourselves. preparing us to be just normal human beings in the society of the human world.
We are the ones who make the choices. Not our heroes. they just guide us to the righteous way. And may just me mirages of existance where we thought they are perfect. They don 't make the choices in our lives. But we do. whether its right or wrong, we are the ones who will face the consequences.
Thats what makes us humans.

To me, heroes don't necessarily need to be people who have completed great missions, they can be anyone. I have a few heroes in my life (I believe most people do), but my favorite heroes would be every historian from the past, the presence and the future.
Even though I am an engineering student, I like history so much. I like to learn about how big, significant events happened in the past. To do so, I have to refer to the works of my heroes-the historians. The work of a historian is never easy, he has to do so much research, has to accumulate so much crude information and data, he has to interpret these data and finally write about the results or outcomes of his research. It is normal for a historian to spend years just to finish a research.
Historians are my heroes because they tell us about ourselves. As we all know, histories make us what we are today. Imagine how today’s world would look like if Jesus and Nabi Muhammad had never walked on Earth 2000 years ago. Imagine our lives if the mathematicians from ancient Greek and the Islamic world never invented mathematic formulas. Imagine what would happen to us if atomic bomb had never been dropped in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. In short, our world is shaped by events from the past and we have to understand these events as the first step towards understanding ourselves. Historians allow us to know about our pasts. The research they have done impacted our lives. For example, any research about Jesus Christ and his Resurrection will directly impact millions of Christian. In addition, history is important because it serves as a reminder to us. George Santayana once said that “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it”. We should learn from the pasts to avoid making the same mistakes as our ancestors.
In short, historians are my heroes because they allow us to learn more about ourselves and indirectly remind us from making our ancestors’ mistakes. I believe history makes our world a better place.
I am sure that everyone in this world has his or her own hero. Iron man, Superman, Spiderman, Batman… However, my hero is actually my mum. Without her, my life would not be as meaningful as is now. She is the one that shapes me from nothing to everything. She is the one that injects all the good moral values inside my heart so that I know how to differentiate between good and bad. Besides, my mum is always at my side when I face failures. She always encourages me to continue battle without giving up in my journey of pursuing success. She is like the compass that will guide and lead me to sail over the “Ocean of Dream”. With her help, I believe that I will be able to reach my goal in future. At here, I would like to take the opportunity to thank her for everything she had sacrificed for me. You are my hero.
Wall-E is no doubt a hero to many people for saving the Earth when everyone else has given up on it. I would like to share about my hero as well. I personally feel that Dato' Lee Chong Wei, a Malaysian professional badminton player, has everything it takes to be a hero, not only in the eyes of our dearly Malaysians, but also in several countries as well. Last night, I watched him played the men's singles in London Olympics 2012 live and I realized that apart from Asian supporters, there were also non-Asians lifting the Malaysian flag, cheering for the Malaysian hero. When I saw even foreigners are putting their hopes on Dato' Lee Chong Wei, I felt proud more than ever before as a Malaysian. At least the next time I encounter the question of what is so special about my country, I can boast not only about the abundance of food here, but also about a hero that brought the whole nation together more than anything or anyone ever could.
Despite the fact that he had an injury and had to take painkiller throughout a few matches, he managed to break through into the finals to face his all time rival, Lin Dan. He played well and lost in a close, competitive match. He then apologized by tweeting in Twitter saying 'I'm sorry.' He cried when he lost, not for himself but thinking that he has let his nation down. This hero is definitely worth so much more than just a gold medal recognition. All he wanted was for 'Negaraku', the national anthem of Malaysia, to be played in London, and that attitude is more than enough to bring a whole nation together. With that, I strongly feel that Dato' Lee Chong Wei is my hero and will always be for he has brought the nation together more than anything or anyone could in just a 79-minutes game. Well done, my hero.

A hero is a person who displays courage and excellence in any aspects. Everyone is this world would definitely has his or her own hero or heroine. Personally, our nation legendary badminton player, Dato Lee Chong Wei is my hero. Dato Lee Chong Wei is our nation’s hero who has won lots of international championship in badminton in recent years. In addition, he also has once retained the number one men’s single in world ranking for 199 weeks. I admire his profound determination and persistence in training and playing badminton. He once said, “When other people are resting in holiday, I am still training excessively in these days.”
Other than that, Dato Lee Chong Wei also won two silver medals in Beijing and London Olympic games in four years time. He carries not only his own hope in getting Olympic medal, but also carries all Malaysians’ dream in getting the first ever gold medal in Olympic in 56 years time since Malaysians start to participate in Olympic games. Yesterday night, I believe that all Malaysian regardless of race were sitting in front of television and watching Dato Lee Chong Wei played the final match with Lin Dan. Unfortunately, luck was not standing by our sides, the first ever Olympic gold medal brushed past Dato Lee Chong Wei and he was defeated by Lin Dan by only 2 petty points. I can see how disappointed he was and how his years’ efforts were ended up in vain.
Despite his defeat, I believe that he is an unprecedented hero for all Malaysians for all his brilliant accomplishments. I sincerely hope that he will soon physically and mentally get rid of this defeat and eventually start all over again, to honor our country’s name in international level. Thank you, our beloved Dato Lee Chong Wei.
There is no doubt that Wall-E is a hero for saving the precious Earth. I forthrightly feel that I have an idol, a hero that can never be replaced.
There was a time when my brother and I were accidentally messing with a school of ferocious bee. We were chased, and I am frightened. My adrenaline was secreted at maximum rate, triggering my body to act involuntarily. We were screaming -- trying to get other’s help. In a blink of an eye, I saw a figure -- a woman. We were surrounded with her warmth. Frankly speaking, I feel safe during that moment. Ok, back to the bee. She fought tooth and nail to protect us. She hugged us and run like we were in the battlefield during World War 2. Then, I heard a voice, asking us to continue running forward as there is a small pond in front. We jumped into the pond. Everybody was screaming as we plunged on air, including me. Just at that moment I finally realize who my savior is. I know her voice well. I always hear that calm voice when I am about to sleep, singing. I always hear that calm voice when I am playing, cheering. I always hear her voice, and I am sure that I would not do any mistake in recognising her voice. The brave woman who saves me is my very own mother. Thank you very much mama. I love u :D

Okay, Wall-E is indeed a very good character and everyone thinks that he is a hero. Well, it is a bit regretful for me because I didn’t watch the movie yet. Anyway, to someone, there is always a hero. No matter what this hero do, either putting on a jacket to a cold person on the side of the road in the darkest night or a people who donate even 1 dollar to a beggar is considered as a hero depends on the eye of the person who judge it.
Well, to me, my father is a hero. Although he seems lazy and didn’t care about anything that goes around him, his personalities are actually vice versa of what you might think when you see him for the first time. He is a very caring person and will try to do everything as hard as he could as a father. The most epic part about this is that he does it without anyone noticing it except my mother. Another thing about my father is he is a very funny person. Everything that he says is a joke!!! Well, I think that maybe I exaggerate too much about my father and I also think that everyone will do the same if they talk about their father because a father is everyone’s idol.

My hero is not a weirdo with superpower. My hero is not a man who saves the world as well. My hero is just a simple man; a man whose love to me surpasses everyone else’s, my father. He does not like to talk much, and the conversation we have is always a relatively short one. However, being taciturn does not mean he does not love me. It is quite the opposite. He loves me very much and not even once have I even doubted that. Since the day I was born, he has always tried to give me the best in everything that he can. When I was in primary school, he gave me a PlayStation 2. Not a lot of fathers will do that just because their son asks them to. Most parents will simply think that playing video game is a waste of time but my father viewed it differently. He thinks that playing video game can train our reflexes and improve the response time of our brain. It might be silly to say so, but playing video game changed my life for the better. I learnt how to refrain myself from getting addicted to something. I learnt how to organize my time to do work effectively. I even learnt that practice is the only way to perfection.
I realized how much he loves me when he decided to give me a car. Giving me a car means he has to ride a bike to his working place every day. I was really touched by his noble action. My father may not be a man who is capable of changing the world but one thing for sure; he changed my world, and he is my hero.

After reading the post, it took me awhile to actually think of my hero. I think I have not actually thought of it before.
The first thing that always crosses my mind when I encounter the word "hero" is the heroes projected through movies like The Avengers, Spiderman and so on. However, when I think more about hero, I am sure that my hero is not the one that is projected in the today's movies.
In my opinion, hero does not need to be the one who has made a big contribution to the society or the world. Instead, those people who are willing to volunteer and help out the society or the country without expecting reorganization and appreciation are my real heroes. Those people who are willing to contribute to the society and the world without grudges and complaints are the heroes that I admire the most.
If one takes time to retrospect, he'll realize that determining a hero isn't easy, as there're more than one single person who contribute to one's success. Personally, I'm blessed enough to have a very important hero since childhood. That's my brother.
This guy's cynical, sarcastic, narcissisitc and most annoying of all, nonsensical. However, he's the person I grew up with, and my thoughts/principles/values are mostly parallel to his. We generally share a rather unique bond for a pair of siblings, particularly the way we intereact. We don't seem close at all to outsiders, we can go on without contacting each other for months, and we don't even tell each other secrets, but once he tapped on my shoulder and said this to me, "Don't cry, you're the only little sister I have." That simple action made me realize how important he was to me. I love my parents and friends too, but none has such inexplicable impact on me. Sometimes, words simply don't suffice. He's the reason why I've decided to do what I'm doing, and he's the reason why I'm ABLE to do what I'm doing now.

This man truly and absolutely epitomizes the word hero.
One doesn’t simply learn from nothing. When a person is born, he needs a reference, a model to show him the way to live as a human being. For most people, it’s the parents who provide the vital guidance to a proper life; it’s the same for me too. The significance of an idol, a hero to a person’s life is huge. I still remember WALL-E despite many years had passed since the time I watched it. It is one of my favourite Pixar movies. WALL-E is definitely a hero, an unsung one. Though a machine programmed with self-awareness, WALL-E does not possess laziness. Even after planet Earth has been abandoned because of its heavily polluted state, WALL-E stays back and fulfills its responsibility of cleaning up the planet without a single word of complain. It is doing it not for itself, but for the hope that one day the planet can be inhabitable again. This is what makes WALL-E a hero, one that sacrifices itself with nothing in return for the good of others. In the movie, WALL-E is incapable of speech and it resembles the many unsung heroes in our real world who quietly do their jobs and sacrifice themselves for the good of the human race.

Unconsciously we all have a standard by which we measure other men, and if we examine closely we find that this standard is a very simple one, and is this: we admire them, we envy them, for great qualities we ourselves lack. Hero worship consists in just that. Our heroes are men who do things which we recognize, with regret, and sometimes with a secret shame, that we cannot do. We find not much in ourselves to admire, we are always privately wanted to be like somebody else. If everybody was satisfied with himself, there would be no heroes.
She is always there with me when I fall. She picks me up with her warm arms every time I locked myself up in my tiny room filled with depression and sadness. Then, she will start cheering me up by telling me interesting stories or bringing me to park. Of course, when I have done something bad, she never hesitates to give me 5 minute long cold scolds. But, thanks to you, mom, you made me learn through my mistakes and failures. Even now, whenever I feel like sharing something personally, the first thing I will do is pick up my phone, call her and tell her everything.
As a teacher, her lectures about interesting science facts and phenomena completely set my view about how alluring science is. To be honest, she is the one who created a passion in me to feel attached and interested for science. Without her, I certainly would not be pursuing my dream as an engineer today.

Heroes and idols have been in existence since the dawn of mankind. Some of the earliest heroes in history came from Greek mythology. These heroes are made idols because they have performed extraordinary feats that have amazed, astonished and influence mankind in their actions. I have my own idol and hero. I am very fascinated by Greek Mythology and if I had to pick a hero that has influence me, that hero would be Achilles. Achilles was a hero because of his talents. People might think that he was born with them but the truth was, he struggled and had to gain most of his talents through sweat and pain. His story shows the hardship that life throws at someone but he makes the best out of that hardship. In the end, he is a well rounded person, having multiple talents and a hero.
Achilles is my idol because I aim to be a well rounded person with many talents. I have gone through hardship, pain and even discouragement by other people in my quest to achieve the talents I desire. Every time I feel down, I remember the story of Achilles and it keeps me motivated to achieve the greatness that I desire. Today, I have achieved some of the talents that I desire but I still have a long way to go. The inspiration from Achilles keeps me going and he truly is a hero.

First of all , it is really compelling to read your daughter's article.For a 9 year old kids to write amazingly like that, she deserves a compliment.Indeed, Wall-E is the hero of the earth,how much we hope it is not only appears in the movie.Talking about heroes which I believe everyone has at least one, I would like to share mine as well.Before that lets define what is hero is actually about, according to my dictionary I prefer to define hero as a subject(not necessarily human it also can be abstract) that provide us the track to shape us to what we are now.So, in the context of personal life, I would love to choose my childhood as my hero.I think I learn a lot to the extend that I could never learn more for the rest of my life. My childhood is my stepping stone, my teacher , my friend and my guidance that has open my doors and windows to the reality.
How much I wish the younger generation should have embrace the childhood as what I had instead of staying at their room all day long in front of the laptop to ‘socialise’ and expand their ‘knowledge’. I learnt most based on my observation towards people, my mistake, and my environment. I observed people smoking and skipping school and think what possibly happen to their future.I observed my senior’s life that has 15 siblings with not much of wealth but still managed to achieve success. I made mistake that I laughed to my friend walking back home while I was riding a bicycle which at that stage was a craving for every kids, 5 seconds after that I went over a deep hole on the road and fell so badly. I learnt that one should not look down at another when we are on top of the wheel. I also learnt that whatever the hurldles are and how deep the sufferings we should endure it bravely.
Talking about hero and idol, people might start evoking pictures of people like Micheal Phelps, Usain Boltz, David Beckham et al. However, to me, the underdogs of the games are the true heroes, the hidden heroes. Of 220 of country in the Olympic game since 1896, there are 87 of them that are yet win any medals. However, we, who are giving too much focus to the gold and glory, blindly ignored the sweats and tears of the underdogs.
It is always easier to give up than holding on their dreams. However, always staying with hope, the underdogs never retreat when facing such strong opponents. Some people might even laugh at them for being too weak while dreaming of the impossible—winning the gold. Knowing how ludicrous their dreams are, being stout-hearted as they are, the underdogs still are not giving up instead working hard and harder, overcoming their shortcomings. This is the reason I am implicit amazed and constantly inspired by them, the hero. Therefore, remember to save some of your applauses to the underdogs of the games besides of cheering for the winner when enjoying the events of Olympics.
To be honest, there are many people on earth that I admired, but the most people that has influenced is my dad. Before I describe about him, I should describe myself first as it really has a strong connection to my dad. I like numbers. I really like mathematics. Even though it is getting harder, I still enjoy it and accept it as a thrilling challenge. My enthusiasm in mathematics was influenced greatly by my dad. When I was in primary school, he always taught me mathematics for my homework. He taught me that mathematics is the most rational subjects which can be related with everything else in life.
I find myself as a person that aware of Islam and a little bit about politics. Once again, he is the one that makes me to become like that. Whenever we are eating together, he always brought up about current issues mainly about muslim and politics. Even though he is busy with his work, he still makes a time to spend on it and develop his own opinion which I like to be like him one day.
I think it is enough for me to provide two examples. Just to let you know my idol that has a great influence on me is my dad.

I think there’s something wrong with me because I do not idolize someone and I do not have a hero. Without a doubt, after a good movie, I’d be like ‘’Yeah, I sure wish I was the protagonist,’’ but being as great as the protagonist is not enough; I want to be greater. I guess I’m saying I am my own hero because in my opinion everyone is a protagonist of their own life story.
It may be narcissistic of me to say that but I speak the truth. Our lives may not be as grand and spectacular as the ones in the movies; there are probably no maxtrix-like gunfights, no crazy car chase in the city and no walking into the sunset ending, but I can be great in my own way.
I could be the man with the infinite kindness or the jack of all trades and master of all which is more realistic and definitely more awesome in reality.
Thus, we should stop following in someone’s else footsteps totally and become greater than the heroes we idolize. Most importantly, we should start paving a new path so that we become the greatest heroes the world has ever set it’s eyes on.

Well, Farah had her good point there. Yes, true. Wall E such a savior to the Earth and human. He had done a noble job in cleaning the Earth while the entire human were lazy and done nothing. It goes the same to Prophet Muhammad pbuh, my idol now and forever. He was the best and perfect man ever for me. Prophet Muhammad had saved the human being from misguided. He showed and lead human to the right path. If not because of him, Islam won’t be spread as it is now. Despite he had encountered plenty of obstacles and miserable, he continued to do da’wah for the sake of his ummah. In Surah Al Anbiya verse 107, stated ‘And We have sent you (O Muhammad pbuh) not but as a mercy for the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)’. He was a mercy of the entire creatures. I love him so much!! :)

I believe that people will have their heroes in their lives and they will have different opinions about the criteria of a hero. Heroes can be either the people who had lent their hands for us when we met difficulties in lives or the people who have treated us nicely and sincerely for all this time. For me, the hero deep inside my heart is my father.
My father is just an ordinary man but he is willing to put himself in danger in order to support my family. Due to the fact that he does not have a good educational background, he has to work as a laborer in an iron work company. Every day, he has to face many unexpected dangers. He has to carry those heavy steels or irons gates and has to climb up to a certain heights without any safety measures in order to fix the gates. He also has to expose himself to the hot cruel sun. However, he never complains about his life.
There was once an unfortunate incident happened on my father. That day, he was carrying an iron gate with his partners. However, his partners’ hands accidentally slipped from the gate. The gate fell from the sky and hit on my father’s head. My father’s head was bleeding and he was sent to the nearest clinic to check his injuries. Fortunately, the injury was not too serious. Sometimes, I feel guilty deep inside my heart. I even blame myself for his injuries. However, my father always encourages me. He often tells me that the best way to repay him is to study hard to get a better education and change the future. Thus, I have to try my best to accomplish my tasks so that he will not feel disappointed.
I respect my father, my hero very much. I will appreciate his hard work and I will give him a comfortable life in the future once I have a stable job.

Your daughter is so true. If Wall-E really exists in this world, then, he is indeed a real hero. Let us stop fantasizing and come back to reality. There are a lot of heroes in this real life. In my opinion, everyone is indeed a hero. Hero is people who contribute a lot to other people. Of course every one of us has been a hero to somebody else. For instance, children must look up their parent as their hero. Sometimes people think their friends as their heroes. Then, everybody is a hero.
As for me, I have quite a lot of people that I look up to but I want to say that I am a hero to myself. In my opinion, no matter how others influence me, how others want to safe me and how others want to educate me, but in the end the decision is mine. I make the decision. I decide whether to take others help or not. I decide whether to follow others instruction or not. In short, I would say that I learnt from a lot of people but I am still the hero to myself.
When I was in primary school, I always thought that a hero must be someone who have super power, fight the villains and save the world. Soon, I realize that I was wrong. Now, my hero is defined as an ordinary person who is extraordinarily determined to achieve his goals. To me, those world class athletes, no matter what any sports that they are involved in, should be considered as heroes. The virtues of world class athletes make me look up to them.
To be world class athletes is never an easy task. Persistence is always the important element to achieve the goals. People usually see the glory moments of the athletes and don’t realize the pains and sweats that they have to go through. When they attain good results, they get showered by compliments. When they do not perform well, they get criticized by everyone. The heavy expectations by people create a mental burden to them. The most disappointment moment for them is not the moment they lose; is the moment they are accidentally injured, the moment that they don’t have a chance to give a fight after they have put in whole lots of efforts. To overcome all those mental burdens, they not only have to be physically strong, but also have to be mentally tough. That makes me think that all the world class athletes are truly heroes.
To every individual, there will always be a special hero who enlightens the whole world of his or her. To me as well, I found the encouraging values in my parents who raise me up to this age. My heroes are patient enough to tolerate with my stubbornness. Now only I realize that complicated things could go simple when I try to look back things again from their point of views. The moment I show my rebellion and disorder to them after certain misunderstandings only leaves pains and scars on their memories.
My heroes shower love, passion and concern in the family to create a sense of harmony. I view it necessary as it looks like the only nutrition for a balanced development in my family. The four siblings of mine because of this share the similar unbreakable ties that motivate our living in everyday life. Anyway, yes Wall E indeed such an outstanding hero ever for your daughter. It sacrificed itself to collect all the trashes made by reckless human being. It worked no matter huge the duty is, as long as it accomplishing its obligation, it has done heroic job. I have read some of the opinions above stating about the mainstream thinking; choosing a hero. However, the definition about a hero is almost the same. He/she is the one who save the world, had influenced ones lives.
Now, I solemnly state that the heroes from cartoons and movies were the factor I am able to live with. I must admit that cartoons and movies have very strong influence in ones lives especially kid. They have such a wide imagination and from the imagination, they want to make it real one day. My childhood was never less than overwhelm to watch cartoons. I cannot resist the enthusiasm of watching cartoons. I can’t lie that I adore very much heroism type of cartoons. I have gone through discouragement by parents not to watch cartoons much of my time then I chose to watch superhero. These superheroes undeniably had brought me up with hefty self-esteem. Spiderman, batman, power rangers, justice league, you name it are the superheroes famed through all the children’s heart. But, the one had carved his name in my soul is Spiderman. I have not much to say about him since words can’t visualize how much I am passionate about him. The crucial factor about him – He always been bullied by his friends due to his nerd looking yet he is the hero of his town. Peter Parker is the person behind Spiderman’s secret identity to whose self-obsessions with rejection, inadequacy, and loneliness which relate much of me. He is a solo hero which never has a sidekick and thus had to learn for himself “with great power there must also come great responsibility”.
One day I shall be a hero for my country. It took me a harsh time to think how I can incorporate my imagination into reality and I ended none. But, I have thought one day war will be triggered and there shall be me; if in the land of battleground, I am the commander who give commands; if in the air battle, I am the pilot of the jet fighter; if in the raging seas, I am the captain who lead the battalions of Malaysians armies. :)
I’m sure each and every one of us has a hero we look up to. The hero might be someone that you encounter every day, or have left this world leaving a mark behind, or even your parents. However, the person that I look up to is a character from the TV serial, “How I Met Your Mother”. He is well known as Barney Stinson in the serial and his real name is Neil Patrick Harris.
Apart from the comedy he incorporates in the serial, he taught many important lessons which I feel motivational and had an effect towards me. First and foremost, he acknowledged that one has to put one’s mind and heart to work to live the character that one wish to have. Maybe it’s kind of hard to grasp at the beginning but I learnt a lesson from that. He acknowledged that to be awesome, one has to look awesome, act awesome and think awesome. For example, he wears a suit as he believes it can make him be awesome and truly he look awesome indeed. Besides, he dared to accept any challenge that he feels is quite impossible to succeed and at last proves that he can overcome the challenge. He taught me that one can achieve the impossible if one put much effort into the matter. Furthermore, he showed me that social skills is very important when mixing with people as it develops a lot of contacts which might be useful for the future. Moreover, I have to admit that through him I learnt how to communicate with people even better.
In a nutshell, for those who have not watched this TV serial, I suggest you go and do so as it does not only entertains you with everlasting comedy, but also teaches you many important values in life. Without a doubt, I declare Neil Patrick Harris or ‘Barney Stinson’ as my hero.
Everybody has their own heroes. A hero can be defined as a person who has inspired you or even saved your life. It can be said like in movies where many superheroes save people , country and the world. A hero also able to save you from being a bad person and teach you how to be a good and perfect person. Those heroes are called mum and dad.
My mum is very dedicated person. She is knows her responsibility as a housewife to my dad and as a mother to me. Every morning she has to wake up early to wash clothes, prepare our breakfast and many more. Even during school days. she is not going to school but she has to get everything prepared for us. can you imagine this happens constantly since I have three siblings and she does the same thing without criticizing anything. it doesn't end there, whenever papa comes back from work, she has to prepare for our dinner and I am sure most of the time she cooks alone. Before that, how about our lunch? of course she does it for us who are very tired come back from school right? How pity she is but she never regrets of being a mother.
My next hero is my dad. i realize that since i was born all the expenses is covered by him. he works twenty-four hours to earn money to make sure our family survive no matter how difficult it is. Yes, it is his responsibility but there are many fathers outside there who still abandon their family because of financial problem. So, I am very grateful with my mum and dad I have.
In a nutshell, there are many to words to describes about my heroes and I am sure that all of you are agree that the greatest heroes in this world are our parents. So, appreciate them while they are still alive.

They make the earth dirty, and when there is too much rubbish, they run away", same goes to me i think. haha. i have idol but i dont think i have hero. i have many idols, but the trouble that i have is i dont really want to be like my idols. haha. i am the most lazy person in this world maybe. i only dreaming about to become a successful person but my behavior acted as the worst person. miracle never happened without the efforts, right? okay. before this, i have one person that i call my heroin, that was my mum. she thought many things in this world, in how to become a good kind of person or be successful in life or anything. i think my old life with my mum is more better than my life now. if i have any problems she will always pretend to be my spirit to fight cope all the problems. yeah! everyone loves thier mum but not everyone really appreciate all the things she do, right? so if you still have them, loves them! appreciate all the things she do for your own sake and never ever dissapointed them. and take a good care of her life. okay thanks !
