My first impression, tought, and expression about your blog after looking at it, staring at it, reading at it is, its absolutely FANTABULOUS!!!!.Its some kind of brilliant idea actually. The way you teaching us are totally different from every teachers, lecturer who ever teach me before. This blog makes me improved my grammar and vocabs. The academic blog or virtual classroom had help students to improve themselves and enable students to communicate through the virtual classroom. This is a good way to have a communicate besides just going to lecture classes. From my point of view, lecture classes are not enough for students and virtual classroom is definitely a great idea for students to gain more knowledge, share their ideas, their problem regarding the subject, etc. By getting involve in the virtual classroom, students were able to practice on writing, getting points in a period of time, etc. Lastly, the virtual classroom or the academic blog had definitely help students to improve themselves and this is the place where students can share their ideas and opinions freely.

First of all, academic blogging is very interested for me even i don't have my own blog. when i started to comment this blog, i always think that i want to create my own blog about anything. it's not too hard to do the blog. academic blogging is very interesting when you are interested on it. some of them, when they do editing in their blog, sometimes they forget to do others job that they must do. for exampel, they forgot to eat, to do their assignment and so on. that's mean, blogging is very powerful things to people who are interested on it.
Then, when i comment the blog, i can make some improvement in my language, grammar, and the new ideas. i can share my ideas to all and maybe can give the new ideas to other people. i can try do some exercise through the blog. when we always do like this, we can improve our writing, generate new ideas and so on.

Academic blogging is the way we want to share our ideas. There are lot of benefits for us as an academic blogger and as a blog reader. One of the advantage by writing the academic blog is that we can expand our knowledge. If you believe that the reason academics publish is to expand knowledge, then expanding it beyond the few tens or hundreds of your students that read the obscure journals you publish in should be a good thing. Your ideas should matter (if they don't you should try to come up with some better ideas). If they matter then more people should know about them, and right now almost all your ideas are locked up inside the walls of journals. Set them free, and the good ideas will spread, be built on by others, and knowledge as a whole will benefit.

The idea of academic blogging is a very brilliant idea.You fully use of the internet as a medium which mean it is very useful for us especially student IT like us.
This is a good chance for student to develop their thought because they express it by typing which gave them ample time to think that differ from speaking which force us to think spontaneously.Here they can practice how to arrange the idea etc plus gain more vocab and can check spelling error.
The idea of the academic blogging is a catalyst or platform for student to get ready for them to give a speech which a good kick start for them.
Keep it up with this blog and Insya-Allah I'll be following this blog even though you will not being teaching me in the future and I will continue to drop on comment.
I think it is good. very very good indeed. In my own opinion, the speak up avenue acts like a catalyst for students to express their thoughts and feelings. It's like a stepping stone for students, where they first learn to express themselves in this blog by commenting on posts and then go on to the next step by giving a speech to colleagues. One of the effective learning was Academic Blogging, i realize it after i started respond on it.
If all the way student study the books only the end of the day they will feel boring. Blogging make life interesting, encourage student to speak up their opinions and can get know others point of view.
Besides that, this also help us to improve our skills in English language. Not only speaking, but the writing skills also improved.
then, this blogging make us more matured peoples and help us study outside the class room.

This academic blogging or otherwise known as virtual classroom is actually good for us as a student. The great thing about this academic blogging is we can share our taught or opinion about something with others. Since we as a student have limited place to speak up what we truly believes in. Other than that, we can enhance our writing skills and not care what other people thinks about what we wrote about. Academic blogging is also good because since in class we do not have much time to get everyone opinion on something. With this virtual classroom we can get everyone opinion. All in all, I think that this virtual classroom is good for us in improving our English and get wider view what other people thinks about a certain topics.

Having an opportunity to share ideas and be able to voice out self opinion is the best thing. It shouldn't be deny that we have learn so much from you and this blog.
To be truth, I have learned so much from reading this blog. Yes, I have become more brave to share my ideas and best of all, I've started to think out of the box and started to create new different ideas. Also, I don't just stick in popular ideas. Now, I have so mush confident in giving speech on unpopular ideas.
And I enjoy talking so much. From this blog, at last I can really see what's the use of talking in front of the crowd. Truth be told, the reason i didn't want to go for the competition was because somewhere inside me, i believed that i was a singer, not a speaker. But THANK GOD that you managed to persuade me. =D so yes, thank you so much for your support and encouragement for this whole entire semester. I must say that you are the most friendly lecturer i've ever had (12 and counting)
Well, now heading towards the real topic here. Yes i think academic blogging has well, changed my thoughts a bit lol. I don't feel anything major because for me, it's part of my everyday life. But i think that in a way. It has affected me, somehow or another. I do think that it is affective for students who want to improve on their English. I think that it's a brilliant plan and that you should continue doing it.

Even though I'm not so sure I had "absorbed" how much knowledge from you. Haha! But definitely, you are an excellent lecturer!! Honestly, you make me change a lot.
During my secondary school time, all the speeches I gave are manuscript speeches, but now I can "upgrade" it to extemporaneous speeches! Yeah! I can now speak in front a class with less fear.
I really learn a lot from your class, including this virtual classroom. I'm not sure whether there is an improvement in my grammar or not, but I learn something more important, that's "YOU CAN NEVER ACHIEVE SUCCESS IF YOU NEVER TRY IT!".
I'm very sure that what I learn from this public speaking class will be very useful in my future career. I really appreciate what you taught us for this three month.

It seems as though everyone else is posting this as though it's an assignment and a separation for...ever. Whatever it is, I'm looking forward for the days to come and see how this academic blog expands. You know, Puan Zue, you are one, pardon my French here, HELL good a teacher. We are lacking teachers like you, and that's a national crisis unfortunately. I could only wish all the other lecturers are like you. A guidance to us all, especially to me. So, back to the blog. What I take of it? First up, honestly in my most humble opinion, it could have some...eehh..."make up" here and there. I mean, it'd be incredibly, amazingly, fantastically, awesomely, handsomely, beautifully, and adorably appealing to the eyes. Well, that's just me speaking. Second up, this blog, it helps people to get a rough idea of how to present academically; in terms of...how to speak, the tone of voice, the grammar, the punchlines, and best of all, it gets them to read. Don't you think? Me, personally, I despise formal speaking. It limits the form of presentation. I can't express myself all that well when I am limited, so, I get a little discomfort when presenting. All in all, it's been a great 3 months. I'm sorry I haven't been to ALL your classes. I'm a bit wild if you can see, and I haven't had the chance to pull myself through ever since something happened. The idea of a virtual classroom is new to me. None of my previous teachers have set up an academic blog where students can express their thoughts. I think this blog is a wonderful creation. In addition to encouraging students to express their opinions in words, it also improves the english of its participants. Furthermore, it exposes us to new ideas expresssed by other people and broadens our thinking. As an added bonus, our participation also earns us extra marks for ENGF 103 :). Therefore, i think the benefits of a virtual classroom are endless and there are no disadvantages.

academic blogging huh? well, it surely grab my attention when it come to things related to computer. as we all know that computer is something that help us through out our day. nowadays, man cannot live without having any contact with a single computer thing. is it good for us?? well, it sure did. it act as a kick start medium for us who never been through real life experience of sharing their thoughts and ideas. for some of us, they might feel that it is a burden because it play role in your marks but for me, think of it in positive way. u do something that give benefit for u, plus u get free marks because this is not evaluated by ur grammar mistakes or usage of words but it only need u to share ur thoughts. it actually hard to get those free marks in other subjects though.. so, i really hope that this kind of learning method is use not only in 1 subject but in all subjects... huhuhu

From where I start off, from there I starts learning. Public speaking is never a thing for me to learn and I thought speaking is natural UNTIL then this sem. there is more or less something that is really important I had learnt. This blog blooms the speaking courage in me to speak up, just that this blog is in a written form, more likely to speak thru the keyboard. It's totally awesome having this type of method of teaching.It shows how they share their knowledge and idea among students.It is also a place where all the students can meet at one place and have their discussion sort of revision on the way of giving contribution of what have they learned.
Seriously before this I am quite shy of giving speech or talk in front of students, and after this 3rd sem i ensure that i have got to know the way and how to avoid nervousness.I have asked few friends from different class whether they have learned the same one with us but no one except your class miss. Its totally organised and quite nice way to gain confidence of what we gonna talk. As matter of fact,i have improved a lot in the way of using ideas and elaborate more information in the proper way of doing it.
It's damn wonderful experience for me.I am sure, I had read a lot from tis blog and gain more knowledge.
in my opinion, it is really helpful. It enhance us to think in a more matured way, and also from varies aspects.

Well, i think that this blogger really benefits us. This virtual classroom let us to express our thought and it also help us to improve our critical thinking, at the same time it may improve our English skill too. It also helps enhance the our personal qualities and develop the skills in us via the certain stage such as pesuasive speech,imprompto,informative speech. IT is fun and interesting too by reading others comment and thought.
public speaking class really bring us out from introvert. but they are still some student not like 2 speak out. but here give a lots of chance that we can speak out our comment &idea.... besides that we had a lecturer that encouraged us to take part in public speaking & speak out in front of the class ... it really worked on me ... but i am still not reach the standard to take part in public speaking , i shall improve my english 1st before step on the stage ...

I couldn't help thinking about all what you've said in class, because everything in your speeches penetrates through the soul. If you did noticed, I always jot down and scratch something from the words of motivation that you used. It's powerful.
About the topic, rejuvenating academic blogging, the truth is, I realized long ago that we, young Malaysians needed to improve our academic learning so that we would be equipped with the tools necessary to survive in the millennium. And creating an academic blogging channel, fits the missing jigsaw puzzle very well.
To me, academic blogging is still new in Malaysia, but it's necessity is gradually being recognized. Congratulations Puan Zue, for being bold and made the effort in creating this blog for us to generate thoughts and share voices also opinions.
This blog has become an area that I would have the chance to dip in other else's thoughts as well as share some mind of my own. I learn to appreciate other peoples view that comes out in an angle that I wouldn't think of. That's the juice of this blog.

Firstly, i would like you thank from the bottom of my heart, that you were our English Lecturer for this semester. Many things have changed after attending our 3 months of lecture. The virtual classroom has been like a reminder of us enabling us to practice our English academic writing skills on it. Besides, by reading talented writers like Alex and Tjoe's responses. I am able to catch and improve myself with what i read. Moreover, writing in this virtual classroom, is quite similar yet different from an actual essay writing. Rules like, grammatical errors, broken sentences and spelling errors still do apply but without any penalty.
Finally, i would like to thank you, Pn Zue. for introducing us the virtual classroom as it has been a great help to us all. (although it is quite troublesome to write the responses - complained student, anonymous) :)

Your capability, credibility really mesmerize me. And i strongly agree with the way you approach the class activity by making this virtual classroom. Frankly speaking, i have never seen anyone come closer in making this blogsphere. As a student, I think this is the best way for us to share our thoughts, opinion because not everyone has the courage to speak in front of the class. First of all i'd like to thank you for taught me for this semester.you just not taught me as a a good student but also as a good person.
For me your virtual class room has effect academic field.How? first it will make academics more visible and accessible to a society as a whole.There is no reason why the academic community should remain a remote tribe almost as difficult to access as some African tribes in the last century.
Second, it will provide academics with a straight access to idea, suggestions, comments and challenges ( not only from their colleagues but also from people outside their "specialized world" which will eventually improve the quality and relevance of their teaching and writing.

Well, lets get back to the virtual classroom. I think that virtual classroom is good as it will pull us closer between students and teacher. Some student might not be daring or confident enough to raise up their opinion in class. But in virtual class, they can have a nickname which no one knows and therefor there are no reasons for the student not to raise up their opinion.. As time go by, they will be confident and be able to speak up.. =)

First of all I would like to thank you on every bit of knowledge that you had given to me. It surely would be beneficial for me in the near future when I join the working community. My comment about this academic blog is that it really does expand the classroom for the subject. Instead of just having 2 or 3 classes per week, I myself as a student are able to practice my English almost anytime and anywhere. Furthermore, it also help me to improve my writing skill as well as my confidence in English, during this time also I manage to learn a few words that I barely heard before.

I do not know what to say. This semester was really challenging, but thanks to ALLAH we have overcome it.
Yesterday evening when I read an email from my lecturer, and I saw my grades i got in her subject, I felt joyful, and I say Praise be to Allah on everything.
Even today, I felt better and joy when I knew that my grades in one of the subject is excellent and praise and thanksgiving to ALLAH.
In this subject honesty, I felt a kind of motivation towards the future, I felt that I really able to build my future. There were a lot of questions and negative thoughts, that I had about the future, and what are the things that have to do to build a bright future.
Now I know what to do, and all this because of the encouragement and advices that you gave and share with us along this Sem, Mam.
I appreciate that you have allow us to write and improve our personal thoughts and gain the experiance from the all.
I hope I can come by and write again, am hoping that this won't be my last words here. However, I am looking forward to have my own blog

i used to be a blogger boy but lack of time and idea, i quit and just became silent reader.
blogging have its own pro and contra.
for me blogging helps to increase the idea of thinking and its kinda way to voice out our opinion and sharing idea. actually i do feel motivated when read some of the comments in this blog because everybody got their own opinion.

I just love your idea on using Computer-mediated Communication (CMC) as a medium of communication between student outside the class. Its really good. You give your student a chance to develop their own opinion towards the issues your had raise in this blog. Even now when I write anything in my blog I'll write in English but sometimes I mix it with malay. It's just the beginning before I can fully write in English but your method really taught me to be more confidence to have the courage to write in English. I have had write in English before but that time I felt like 'Isn't my English OK or not' as extra. Thank you madam.
This is the first class I attend that use such this kind of method and you is the first lecturer who used such this kind of method eventhough you're not from IT background. Eventhough sometimes I have no idea to comment what hehe don't get mad with me madam.
I think other lecturer maybe can use the same method as you. So the class will be more interesting. Why not right. We're IT people. We should use the technology isn't it =)

I seriously have to say that this is a 'one of a kind' class which I am so lucky to be a part of. I now realize that public speaking is actually the most important talent that a student need in or order to become successful.
We all have interesting ideas but we were always to afraid to share it with other people. The method of commenting on this blog helps us a lot in building our confident to speak up. When you explained about students having interesting opinions but they shy away from telling them, I felt that I was one of them. I thought my opinion is lousy or I might be laughed at because it is different and unpopular. After this I will definitely speak up my mind regardless of what people might think.
Everything about your class is unique. First of all, the way you encourage us to speak in front, there is always no pressure when doing so. Either we did good or very bad, there will always be an applause for trying. Another thing is by commenting on this academic blog. This is the first time I have done something like this and does not contribute in me being pressured at all, in fact it makes me more motivated to share my opinions with others. Another thing is, our project. Our group did a report on implementing technology in football. This is the first time that I got to write about something that I really like and support. Before this, there was never a class that I am allowed or approved in doing so.

In my opinion, sharing my thoughts regarding several topics in this blog has benefited me in some ways. It has given me the chance to express myself in regards to my thoughts on the given matter of subject. It is indeed challenging to put thoughts into words but nevertheless paves way for learning.
Academic blogs such as this has given much to read with many interesting topics to be read and be pondered upon. It is indeed interesting to read the opinion of others and to contrast them with mine. It provides a very good insight on how my opinions and thoughts speak up among the rest.
The idea of including this blog as part of the Computer-mediated Communication Practice is a very wise method of expanding the horizon of studies which is now not limited to the walls of the classroom.

In my opinion, I believe this kind of academic blog is beneficial to all of us. It is a great way to develop student's ability to generate ideas and encourage students to speak up through writing. In class, not all students have the confidence to voice their opinions, probably because of they feel uncomfortable or get nervous when speaking in front of lot of people. But through academic blogging, students are able to write anything they wish to say without feeling uneasy. They can also read the comments written by the other students who have excellent writing skills, and from that, they can slowly learn and improve their own English writing skill. Though this way might not overcome the nervousness of students when giving presentation or speaking verbally in front of many people, but it is absolutely effective to help students to be able to speak up anything in their mind.

Well, if you are asking me what do I learn the first time I read this blog, I will tell you that i was actually forced to write and share the ideas here. This is because I wouldn't like to comment anything in any website. However, after the second writing about my ideas on this blog, I found out that sharing ideas is actually a very interesting demeanour.
Through this, I realized that writing something or sharing the ideas gives us the chances to know what we are thinking in a deeper way. Pertaining to this, such way, incontrovertibly, benefits us by providing us the correct pathways to express our notions.
Furthermore, it is an undeniable fact that widening my horizon is one of the advantages as well. While reading the comments from miscellaneous people who have different perceptions on certain subjects, I am able to gain knowledge, helping me in writing an essay.
In the class, you have given us a lot of different tasks which involve our creativity and fluency in English. Through such activities, I have learnt to collaborate with each other in a group while carrying out a project. First of all, I have to thank Pn Zue for introducing me this academic blogging. At the first time when I browsed this blog, I stunned. I have never read any blog with so many posts and photos. This is the first one.
For me, I think that academic blog is really a very good platform for students or people to read and express their feelings, especially for someone like me. I do not dare to speak out much of my ideas when I am in front of the public. (Maybe I am a bit shy.) Thus, this type of blog really helps me a lot because I can voice out my own views without letting many people know who I am.
Besides that, I have learnt a lot from this blog. I have learnt the skills to write down my thoughts. I have also known many newest and hottest issues that happening around us. I have read many different types of perspectives too and this helps me to see things from different angles.
Hence, I hope that we can have the chances to expose many students to this kind of blog because it is really beneficial and meaningful.

I have never properly read an academic blog before until Pn. Zue introduces this blog to me. People have many brilliant ideas, but they have different ways of conveying their ideas. Some choose to voice out their ideas by being a debater or public speaker. Some choose to be a writer to write down their thoughts and share to the readers. Writers can still use the conventional way which is by using the paper and pen. However, the advance of internet and technology allows us to have access to wide range of writing and reading materials and creates a new medium for writing, which is the academic blog. Academic blog is a new platform and a more convenient way for the writers to share and exchange their point of views. I would like to thank Pn. Zue to provide this chance for me to enjoy the fun of writing through academic blog. Thank you, Pn Zue. =)
Academic blogging is so great. Although I never knew what is meant by academic blogging until Pn. Zue told me about it. Thank you Pn. Zue. In my opinion, academic blog really helps student to study because it is easy and relaxing. Students didn’t have to go to the library or to speak up to voice out their opinion. They just have to surf the internet and it is all done. It is really convenient as the world nowadays is moving towards globalization. And I think it is a good way to support they shy ones.
The academic blogging has help me in many ways. At first, I never truly understood the function of this course but overtime, I have developed much knowledge from it. The academic blog has influenced the way I write and perceive things. I see things in a new light and am able to write about them from various vantage points. My writing was been empowered and ideas just keep flowing.
I am truly overjoyed with the results that I am achieving through this academic blog. I realized that the academic blog is indeed a very useful tool in helping people express themselves. People do not need to hold back anymore. I am also grateful that I am able to use this blog for my advancements as well. This academic blog should definitely continue. Thank you.

I’m person that idles to think especially when I encounter topic that I never think before. Personally, I think that online blogging is an effective and convenient way for people to voice out and express their opinions. In reality, people might not have enough courage and confidence in sharing ideas or speaking in group or class discussion. By having a habit that posting comment in the blog, people might eventually feel confident due to some other bloggers that comment on their posts. Others might also express their opinion for our comments in the blog. This will surely teach and enlighten us on many aspects. Other than that, academic blogging is also a good way for us to get more information and knowledge about some latest issue. By visiting academic blog, we would definitely widen our knowledge and benefit from it. In short, I hope that more and more people will make visiting academic blog as one of their habits.
Well honestly I don't think I've learned or gained anything by visiting this blog. But it had been awhile since I last wrote something. So it was a good writing practice nonetheless. One suggestion here is you could include more thought provoking articles rather than bland and insipid ones that you have here.

I never leave so many comments in a blog. I always read people blogs, and leave with nothing. Speak Up Avenue is a good platform for me to leave my thoughts, idea, something good to be pondered. Sometimes, I “forced” to think or to leave few words, but actually, I’ve grown up, with mature thought, at least there are some brain exercises, because it encourages me to write my mind. When I’ve no idea what to write, I read other commenters’ comments, to give me some inspirations of thought, and then write out my true feeling. Blog is not serving as one-way interaction, it can be in two-ways. You talk, I reply, and make the interaction more interesting. Blog connects different people to exchange mind, thoughts, ideas, opinions and values of life, through words. This blog brings benefits others than knowledge in the textbooks. I believe everyone used to leave a few words in this blog, gain something extra and meaningful gift, including me. Rather to say Speak Up Avenue is an academic blog, I’d prefer to say it is a motivation blog to everyone.

This academic blog is very important to me. I’ve learnt a lot from this blog. I’ve improved my writing skills but I still need to do a lot more practise in public speaking. By writing 500 words every comment blog, I’ve found that I’ve become much more productive. The 500 words act as a warming up exercise for every single blog, getting me in the mood to write. Other than that, I found that this is the New ways of sharing ideas and research findings.
From this academic blogging, I can put up an idea and I can read other bloggers think of the topic that is being discussed. It can act then as an unofficial means of peer review. I’ve found blogging hugely rewarding and hopefully will be able to keep writing for the forseeable future.

I like this kind of blog due to the way of communicate is very comfortable and easy since surfing internet is part of people's live now. We don't need to physically meet each other to communicate, just few clicks and some typing will does. It is simple and
doesn't cost anything, many people choose it instead of wasting time meeting each others to have long conversations. Online spaces allow students to role play and inhabit characters in a way that would be a rather embarrassing drama workshop if tried in the classroom. We get better at reflecting and expressing reflections in writing with the help of this academic blog. Academic Blog huh? this is the first time, that i never heard that before. When you introduced me to this blog, i feel so excited and wonder how the blog looks like.
My first impression, tought, and expression about your blog after looking at it, staring at it, reading at it is, its absolutely FANTABULOUS!!!!.Its some kind of brilliant idea actually. The way you teaching us are totally different from every teachers, lecturer who ever teach me before. This blog makes me improved my grammar and vocabs. Besides, without notice, i'd learn how to public speaks better.

Enhancement in technology on time to time makes the public life easier daily. Academics, who blog often report positive outcomes, like networking and collaborating, finding new audiences and opportunities. By blogging, the world able to share their knowledge’s and experiences on every day without any hassle. Not like a few decades ago, where sharing knowledge was restricted by the technology. In short, there were no proper platforms to share knowledge in one stop station which we call “blog” on today. Off course the world would not be able to build its network without the help of internet. We should appreciate those people who were behind this technology invention. Academic blogging could be a good platform of public engagement, permitting teachers to attach and share their work with the public, generating mutual profit for each blog authors and readers. This will facilitate to make trust and understanding of universities, and might increase our connections and impact on society. So, to revive the academic blog on every day, the blog author and the blog user should play their role by coming up with new topics to be discussed on daily experiences or knowledge’s. For every CMC that madam gave, I have to read it and think about it. Then, write what is my thought and feeling toward that particular topic. Even though I don’t know whether my grammar has improve or not, but I very sure that I learnt to think more and write more to express my thoughts!
This is quite a good teaching technique where we can improve our writing and thinking skills or even other skills that madam mentioned. No doubt that Speak Up Avenue is a good platform to help the students to express their thoughts and share to others. Actually we can see that, most of people here are good in express their thoughts. Some, they have really good thoughts about a topic, we can learn from them too by reading their thoughts.

for a student that didnt always come to class likes me, this would be the better way in improving my english. this virtual class gives me opportunity to enhance my skills in english studies. As you know,im really a shy person in the class and my contribution in class activity are very low. i keep on commenting on this blog by your order, so i can be more brave in using english languange than malay. this virtual class have thought me many things that i cant produce in class, likes presention. im used to feels really nervous when standing in front of many people, but it different in this virtual class. it feels like we are one family that closely together when we uses to keep commenting on the same blog and on the same things. thank you madam for all lesson that you have give me.
