Now, I'm the Dream Scientist:)

Free Clipart

So, did you have a good dream last night, or was it a nightmare? Ohhhh...why bother talk about it when it's over, right? Wrong! Dreams appear in our lives, of course in our sleep, with its very own significance.

I always dream of my late mom and dad. Of course, I miss them so much and sometimes, I create triggers to invite such dreams. This way, my sleep becomes more meaningful, yeah. Now, don't tell me that I sleep because I need to, so I can recover from fatigue and whatsoever....I sleep because I find it so rejuvenating, and wholesome, and rewarding...and that it is also an ideal form of relaxation - to be free from all worries, responsibilities, drudgeries, anf the list can go on.

ok..I'm derailed. We're not talking about sleeping here, but dreams.

Now, just like the wonderful Mariposa fairyland we used to flutter and reside when we (gurlz) were children, dreams occupy some kind of platform in our head? brain? mind? that it's become so attached to our lives. Since the scientists can't concur on the whereabouts or whatabouts, I may as well take the liberty to say that dreams exist to accompany us in this long journey called life.

As a friend or foe, dreams sometimes make explicit our instincts and intuitions. They also become our punching-bag, launching pad, or trampolin. Have you ever had a deja vu? where you meet someone in your dream and later meet the same person in real life? Now, who needs another psychic who works hard to interpret our dreams, when the psychic is already alive and kicking in your head?

To quote Wikipedia, "There is no universally agreed biological definition of dreaming. General observation shows that dreams are strongly associated with rapid eye movement (REM) sleep, during which an electroencephalogram shows brain activity to be most like wakefulness. Participant-nonremembered dreams during non-REM sleep are normally more mundane in comparison.[1] During a typical lifespan, a human spends a total of about six years dreaming[2] (which is about 2 hours each night[3]). It is unknown where in the brain dreams originate, if there is a single origin for dreams or if multiple portions of the brain are involved, or what the purpose of dreaming is for the body or mind."

Call it dream prophesy, dream nation, dream analysis - they are all the same thing. They are evidence of how we are so attached to this magical "company" that is sometimes our muse, conscience, and guardian angel. There are already so many songs devoted to the beauty of dreams. (Guess I may invite Natasha and Qila to help me here - check out:) their response soon. People my age...remember - EVERLY BROTHERS - ALL I HAVE TO DO IS DREAM (1958) which is my true favourite; CULTURE CLUB - THE DREAM; and of course Mariah Carey's dream numbers...

DO you have a favourite song on 'dream' that you'd like to share with us? Or perhaps, you'd like to share with us your thoughts on dreams? I'm not hinting anything, but some of you may want to turn into psychics and start talking about dream interpretations...interesting, yeah.

Till we meet again, may you have a memorable dream everytime.

Hello Pn Zue! This is my second time commenting on your blog. I believe strongly in deja-vu and dreams. For me, dreams sort of give me insight of what things are going to happen after i wake up. For example, when i was sitting for SPM chemistry paper, i had a dream that i cried while doing the paper becuase i could not understand any question at all. later that day when i sat for the paper, the paper was really very difficult and the questions asked were so out of the box. Until this day, at times i have bad dreams, things do not really work out nicely as i have planned. And yes, i love the songs what dreams are made of and never had a dream come true. I dream of being with my loved one and i dream of belonging to a happy family but when will these come true? Theese feelings always comes to me whenever i listen to these songs. Well, i think that's all for now!

Hye Puan Zue,
No worries,its all good.
Beside music, I also love to read some self-help books. So, one of the book that i read has something to say about dream...
The author,Orison Swett Marden wrote, "All men who have achieved great things have been great dreamers"

Yah...I like that.Dreams propel our lives, because it's only when we dare to dream for d impossibles that we dare to achieve it. Take care everone, and have a very bright future. May our dreams come true.

hi pn zue..
so,this is my first time i commenting your blog..since i want to make it as my habbit,i'll try my best to find some space to drop my comment here..
ok,back to our main topicc..it is bout dream.actually, when i was kid,i closed with my grandparents.since my parents were too busy with their work,so they sent me,live with my grandparents.Obviously,i spent all of my kid year with them. But,when my age was 15,my parents decided to take me back.Seriously,i was so sad at that time, but what to do,"this is the time for you to get together with your parents"as my grandpa said. The 'BEST' part is,when they force me to follow my parents.Since that incindent,i never visit them anymore.i was very hurt with them.3 years later,I lost them!they got a car accndent in their way to my house.that was my Big mistake in my life.everynight,i always dream bout them.because of my ego,i had lost people that mean everything in my life.so,to cure my miss to them,i always sleep and hoping i will meet them in my dreamland.till now,im still doing that.sharing everythng with them.sometime i wish i can have a room for privacy,so that i can burst into tears!

Anonymous,
Guess i know how you feel.Aren't we thankful that we have our dreamland to visit whenever we need to communicate with all our loved ones...it may only be our sub-conscious, but it still relieves us a lot...rite. And please leave a nickname the next time you post your comment. I seem to have so many 'anonymous's that i can't relate to them the way I should and want to. Take care.

hey pn zue...( i seem to start with this line every time) haha

well i love it when i'm in lala-land...because this is the only time where i trully feel like i can fly.

in fact, there was once i dreamt that i was a bird soaring through the sky above the clear blue ocean... it was such a wonderful dream that when i had to get up the next morning, i truly felt calm and happy... i guess you could say that i woke up on the right side of the bed on that particular morning.

but the best dream that i can remember is the night after my grandmother passed away... i dreamt that my grandma came back to me and embraced me ever so tightly, as if she would not ever let me go again, for the very last time. every time i think about my late grandmother i do burst into tears, but for some reason whenever i think back to that dream, i feel strong enough to go through a day without ever shedding a tear for her. she was the best grandmother in the world. i miss her ever so much.

Dreams..........
Well,I also not really sure what does it means. As far as I know, it is one of the "gift" from "HIM" to us. Dreams.., to experience it of course we have to sleep. For the muslim we believe that when we sleep we are consider to be "mati sekejap" since our spirit or "roh" leave our body. When we all wake up it returns back to our body, so why not for the moment we take a deep breath and say "allhamdullilah" because we still alive untill today after being dead over 1000 times.. Surprise ha.. While we all sleep we experience dreams, if the dream are wonderfull we should feel happy on the other day if it is not.."nasibla...". Dreams enable our mind to release all the stress and at the same time let our body to relax, is it killing two bird with one stone. You defined it by yourself. Dreams also sometimes can be confusing, in our dreams we can be anyone. For example, having a really wonderfull dreams riding a white horse to meet the lovely princess, beautifull as a heavenly creature. At the moment he want to touch her we realise that we are already under our bed holding the broom stick. Hehe.. No matter how bad the dreams is we still have to experience it every single day.

Dreams. nightmares. everyone has them. this neurological activity is something that was created by the events which affects us most or maybe vice versa.
i had this dream once. i dream t that i was in my former school. i was standing in front of the pillar talking with my friends.and suddenly out of no where, screams were heard. boys were running around. the form six girls, screeching so loudly, that my eardrums were about to break.
then i saw what was the uproar about.
a thing was standing outside the gpk(guru penolong kanan) 1 office. a man , but it had a face of a crocodile, cowl of a rooster, a red v was shining on its chest. more like a half human, half dragon creature. red scales were spiked into its black fiery body. arms and legs pumped up like a human wrestler. it was burning up. staring straight at me. it suddenly point its finger towards me and shook its head.
in a split moment i realised that it was running towards me with a sword.
without a single warning i felt a sharp pain on my torso as it stab the blade into my abdomen. it was a devastating feeling, so real and painful. blood was dripping from my stomache rapidly. my guts and intestines were ripped apart as the creature dug the sword deeper into my body. i look at it straight in the eye and i saw.... it was full of anger and hatred in its eye.
slowly, my eyes begin to closed as i knew i was going to die. i woke up the next morning and ...........there it was. a scar on my left rib.
it has healed now. but the question still remains in my mind. was it really a dream.
